ACFM 2026 Opens Registration on July 6

  • Market Badge Early Bird registration and Sales Booth / Online Booth applications open on July 6
  • Industry registration rose 14.4% year-on-year in 2025, with total attendance up 13.5%
  • ACFM Director Ellen Y.D. Kim: “ACFM will remain grounded in cinema’s essential value while helping lead change in the market”

The Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM), the official market of the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), opens registration for its 2026 edition on Monday, July 6.

Building on record participation and business results last year, ACFM returns for its 21st edition from October 10 to 13 at Exhibition Center 2, BEXCO. ACFM 2026 Online launches earlier, on October 6—the opening day of BIFF—giving participants early access to sales lineups, Online Booths, Online Market Screenings, and selected titles from BIFF’s Official Selection.

Record Turnout, USD 71.16 Million in Deals

Last year, ACFM recorded its largest edition to date, with industry registration up 14.4% and total attendance up 13.5% year-on-year. International visitors numbered 19,024—63% of total attendance—and the Sales Market welcomed 553 buyers.

The growth in participation translated into tangible business results. A total of 8,438 business meetings were held in the Sales Market during the event, generating approximately USD 71.16 million in transactions. The figures underscore ACFM’s role as a working marketplace—where participants find content and partners, and where co-production, investment, distribution, and sales deals get made.

BIFF was recently accredited by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF) as a competitive feature film festival, joining the ranks of the world’s “A-list” festivals. The winner of the Busan Award – Best Film Award, the top honor of BIFF’s Competition section, now qualifies for submission to the Academy Award for International Feature Film—a status the Academy grants to the top prizes of just six festivals worldwide, BIFF being the only one in Asia. As BIFF’s international standing rises, so does global industry attention on ACFM, its official market.

Discover Content, Meet Partners, and Build Business at ACFM

At ACFM, participants can discover new films and content projects and meet producers, investors, distributors, sales companies, and buyers. ACFM connects every stage and player of the film and content business—from finished-content sales to project discovery and development, production and post-production, industry insight, and technology collaboration.

This year, ACFM deepens its three core programs—the Asian Project Market (APM), Busan Story Market (BSM), and the Sales Market—while continuing to build Producer Hub, Doc Square, and Platform BUSAN into full-fledged co-production platforms, supporting projects all the way from creative vision to commercial success.

ACFM Director Ellen Y.D. Kim said, “Amid rapid change across the film industry, ACFM aims to expand its role as a global content business hub that connects technology and the market while remaining grounded in cinema’s essential value.”

She added, “ACFM will grow beyond Asia into a global market and become a dynamic platform that helps shape the industry’s next direction.”

Market Badge Early Bird registration runs July 6 through August 9, followed by general registration from August 10 and on-site registration from October 5. Details are available on the official ACFM website at www.acfm.kr.
